The McKee Group and Homes for Our Troops built a new accessible home for Sergeant Pisey Tan, who was severely injured fighting for our freedom in Iraq. Pisey and his family moved in on December 14, 2006 cheered on by friends and family.
Homes for Our Troops is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization strongly committed to helping our service men and women who have selflessly given to their country. This fantastic organization assists injured service men and women and their immediate families by raising donations of money, building materials and professional labor and coordinating the process of constructing homes for handicapped accessibility. In the spring of 2006, Homes for Our Troops located a local Iraqi War Veteran who needed our help. Pisey is a 25 year old hero who hails from the Olney Section of North Philadelphia. While serving in the United States Army, Sergeant Tan was deployed twice to Iraq. During his second deployment with the 3rd Battalion, 69th Armored Regiment, Pisey's vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device. The injuries suffered by Pisey forced the eventual amputation of both of his legs. His family’s former home was inadequate as he was dependent on his brother to carry him to the second floor.
The McKee Group identified a lot to build a home for Pisey in Ridley Township, Delaware County. We believed that our expertise in 55+ housing put us in an excellent position to build a house to meet Pisey’s needs. In fact, we built our Clayton model home from the Foxfield Development.
We have so many to thank for making Pisey’s house a reality. As a company, we have been extremely touched by the generosity of our partners and the experience of coming together to try to thank one man who gave so much.
We would like to especially thank Homes for Our Troops for making this project possible. Please consider a donation which will help Homes for our Troops build more accessible homes for severely injured veterans waiting for homes all over the country.
Very truly yours,

Frank J. and Karen McKee
